A New Event for Those New to the Community

Here's an idea.

New community members meet and explore with other new community members.

I'm tasked with the goal of weekly events to get the community talking about a range of topics. It's an exciting goal and I have the privilege of designing and organising such events. So far we're had Twitter Spaces chats and Thursday Testing Tea (a lean coffee style session).

And now we're excited to announce a new type of session. It's for those of you who are new to the Ministry of Testing community. We know it can feel overwhelming when you join a community for the first time. "What can I do?" "Who might I speak to?" "How do people interact with each other and what is the "way" of this community?"

By the end of the interactive session, the aim is for participants to be able to:

  • Describe what Ministry of Testing is and how it helps the software testing craft
  • Discuss the importance of the Ministry of Testing Code of Conduct
  • Name multiple ways to learn, contribute and connect with the community
  • Connect with other community members with shared interests

I'd love to get your thoughts on the ideas I have for the 1-hour session. You can see the draft schedule on this Club post. Feel free to reply on The Club and let me know what you think.
