Join the Newcastle Meetup for an Intro to Mob Testing & Using ChatGPT for a Personal Learning Plan
18:00 - 20:00 GMT
Location: Cubo Newcastle

Welcome to our March event!

We'll be hosting this event once again at the BJSS offices in BANK HOUSE, NEWCASTLE. With some pretty special views of the city, we will be on the 12th floor of Bank House, East, Pilgrim St, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 6QE.

When you arrive you will be shown a lift which will take you directly to Floor 12.

We'll be providing food (probably pizza) and drinks so why not pop along and meet some real-life testers?

Talk 1

""Intro to Ensemble Testing" by Paul Alexander and Alex Fagan

Synopsis:

Ensemble Testing is about the whole team testing together on one computer, getting the best out of everyone’s skills and experience and also learning together from the work they are doing.

On the Sage 50 Accounts team we have done Ensemble testing for a number of years and this session will explain how we started to use it, how it has grown with the team, and how it has changed how we have worked.

We will also look at how the Sage 50 Accounts team introduced AI into a desktop program and the issues we faced as a testing team while helping to develop and test newer technology.

More about Paul and Alex:

Paul Alexander is a Senior test engineer working on the Sage 50 product, dealing with all aspects of testing in a desktop world while also looking at what more we can do.

Alex Fagan is an associate tester for Sage 50 Accounts, enthralled by the world of testing he has a genuine passion for exploring the many different ways of approaching it.

Talk 2

"Using ChatGPT as a training/upskilling resource', subtitle" - How to use ChaptGPT to get a personal learning plan

Synopsis:

There has been lots of focus and discussion around the impact of developments in AI, Machine learning and LLMs (large language models) recently, including lots of events with the Ministry of Testing!

However this talk is a bit different in that it's a practical demonstration of how to get an effective, personalised study plan from the ChatGPT LLM- using Selenium as an example but applicable to any test tool/technology stack or topic. This should be relevant to anyone who needs to keep on top of the constant changes in our industry and will introduce an approach to take advantage of the advances in LLMs to support your ongoing professional development.

More about Daniel:

Daniel is a well-experienced Test Engineer joining us all the way from Wales for this event.
