TestBash Australia: Throw Another TestBash On The Barbie!

Ministry of Testing in partnership with Anne-Marie Charrett (Testing Times) and David Greenlees are bringing TestBash down under to Sydney, Australia!

We get requests all the time to bring TestBash to new countries and cities, and we hope over time to action all of them, but when Anne-Marie planted the seed about TestBash Australia, it had to be explored!

Ministry of Testing (MoT) is well known in the Northern Hebrides, but not down under. We want to bring MoT closer to all the awesome testers in the Southern Hemisphere. On top of that, having two of the biggest testing leaders in Australia in Anne-Marie and David is the icing on the cake.

TestBash Australia will be a single day conference, in the TestBash single track format. It will be taking place at Aerial on the 19th October 2018. We will have 9 talks, many pre and post meetups, awesome sponsors passionate about building community, and, of course, great people attending who care about building quality software.

Tickets will be on sale around March-April 2018. Subscribe to the MoT Newsletter to be the first to hear about MoT down under. Even better, subscribe to the launch list (bottom of the page) for TestBash Australia and be the first to hear when tickets are on sale. Additionally, if you book a ticket and are on the launch list then you’ll be in for a special, exclusive MoT treat!

Anne-Marie Charrett says…

Australia needs TestBash. TestBash is synonymous with a vibrant and credible community with continuous learning and self-improvement at its heart. TestBash means great speakers and a community that learns to grow to respect and appreciate each other’s talents, both within and outside the testing sphere.

Sydney has long had a good history of creating community. Trish Khoo, Bruce McLeod, Richard Robinson, David Greenlees, Samantha Connelly, and many others have grown the software testing community here down under. By bringing TestBash to Australia, Testing Times is continuing to grow and support the software testing community.

TestBash brings courage and growth to our testing community. Come and be part of it!

David Greenlees says…

I recall watching on from afar (social media does have its positives) the very first TestBash that took place in Brighton all those years ago, and what an event it has become. A truly global conference that just keeps getting better with age… unlike the shrimp that got left on the barbie.

During any TestBash, I’ve been glued to Twitter and the various blogs that have inevitably been written about each event. So when Anne-Marie approached me to help bring TestBash down under, it was a no brainer!

A truly inclusive and passionate event that brings testers together in different and creative ways, I cannot wait to share this with the community down under. Prepare yourselves for something really special!

Apply to speak

We want talks that are creative, fun, but still focus on learning. If you have stories and ideas you want to share with us or the solution of a tricky problem you solved, apply! We want to hear from you!

The Ministry of Testing now has a Continuous Call for Papers. This means you can apply to speak at TestBash Australia at the same time as any of the other TestBashes. We will be reviewing TestBash Australia submissions until 4th March – this means if you submit before this date then your submission will be considered for Australia 2018.

TestBash is a very friendly community conference and the right place to start your speaker career – 99 seconds or 30 minutes – it is up to you! New voices – we want to give you a stage to share your stories and to send sparks of your testing fire to an inflammable and engaged audience. If you have passion and energy for your profession, this is the place to share it!

If you need help to prepare your talk, please contact us, we know amazing experienced speakers who love to help new voices. Be courageous and jump in!

Community

This event is for you! Got a speaker who you would love to see at TestBash Australia? Tell us who that is, we will see if we can make it happen. Tell people about this event. Encourage people that you believe have a great problem-solving story that they need to share it. Know people in the area? Let them know it’s taking place.

Sponsorship

If you want to support us for this amazing event, we are looking for sponsors. This is your chance to present your brand to a bunch of highly engaged testers.

For more details on the sponsorship options please email australia@ministryoftesting.com

We are looking forward to reading your proposals and meeting you on the 19th October in Sydney!
